you are age 14-18, as of September 1, 2007, you CAN have fun while
learning the way a bill becomes a law! Attend Florida 4-H Legislature,
June 23-27, 2008 here in Tallahassee*. Get your registration form,
listed above, BEFORE March 24th.
Important Dates
- Tuesday, March 18, 6:45-8pm
4-H Legislature Information Table During Leon County 4-H Share-the-Fun Talent Show. Get more information about this amazing event, why you should go, how to register, how to select your committees, what, when, where, roles you would play and more.
- Monday, March 24, no later
than 5pm
Registration form, $50 fee, participation form and “value of a dollar” statement due to the Leon County 4-H office
As a Leon County 4-H’er, a portion of your registration fee is provided, on the condition you attend the 4-H Legislature training sessions & submit your paperwork on time:
- Training 1: Thursday, April 10, 6:30-7:30pm at the Main Branch Library, 200 West Park Avenue, Tallahassee
-Tour of research tools at the Leon County Library system & how to use them
-Distribution of manuals & bill books
- Training 2: One evening
the week of May 4th
-Select bills to sponsor and/or focus on
-Basic Government structure review
- Q & A’s
- Training 3: Work Session:
One afternoon the week of June 9th
-Research bills as a group
-Write presentations (for bill sponsorship or lobbyist presentations)
-Mock Bill Presentation or Committee Meeting
-FL 4-H Legislature Expectations during event
