Education and Accountability

1) The function of the Extension Service is education, so volunteer service in this category must be educational. eg., working as a volunteer in maintaining Maclay Gardens is a good cause, but wouldn’t receive credit here. 2) The Extension Service is accountable for how we spend our time and our volunteers’ time, so we must be recognized for the volunteer service. eg, you may give a talk at Maclay Gardens monthly programs, but make sure your audience understands that you are there as a MG volunteer and not a Maclay volunteer. Accountability is important to us.
