Welcome to the UF/IFAS Leon County Extension Office’s Horticulture Program website.

The mission of UF/IFAS is to develop knowledge in agricultural, human and natural resources and to make that knowledge accessible to sustain and enhance the quality of human life.

The UF/IFAS Leon County Extension Horticulture Program focuses on spreading research-based, horticulture information to the citizens of Leon County to help them create beautiful landscapes in a way that protects and conserves Florida’s natural resources.

We do this through educational, hands-on presentations, publishing articles in a variety of media formats, engaging in social-media, and serving citizens by answering gardening questions. We also run the Master Gardener Program in Leon County, which is a volunteer program for those who have an interest in gardening and in giving back to their communities.

Mark Tancig is UF/IFAS Leon County’s Residential/Commercial Horticulture Agent and Master Gardener Coordinator.

Kelly Thomas is the Horticulture Program Assistant.

Genice Harris is an Administrative Assistant who also supports the Horticulture Program.
